    M-30 Bypass South Madrid

The project consists of tunnelling work measuring 4.20 km of the M-30 bypass motorway in Madrid between Paseo de Santa María de la Cabeza and the junction with the road to Valencia (A-3), near Conde de Casal.

The route runs under the parks of Arganzuela and Tierno Galvan, avoiding congestion at the South interchange. These works streamline traffic towards the road to Valencia (A-3) to the east by avoiding traffic heading to the Andalusia (A-4) road, between the road to Toledo (A-42) and the Avenida del Mediterráneo (A-3).

ACCIONA built the north tunnel of the south bypass using Dulcinea, the largest EPB /Earth Pressure Balance) tunnelling machine at the time of construction, with a diameter of 15.16 m. The inner sections of the tunnel have 3 lanes measuring 3.50 m, a 0.50-m hard shoulder and 0.70-m pavements.
