ACCIONA’s Infrastructure Maintenance Unit has certified its Occupational Health and Safety Management System under the new ISO 45001 standard for all of its activities in Spain, helping to achieve the strategic objective defined in ACCIONA’s Sustainability Master Plan.
The AUDELCO´s certificate was collected by Vicente Ariño, head of ACCIONA’s Infrastructure Maintenance Unit; Juan Antonio Fernández, business partner for occupational health and safety of ACCIONA’s Infrastructure Maintenance Unit, and Cristina Rodríguez, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality and Environment Manager of the same unit.
This certification further confirms and validates ACCIONA’s commitment and leadership to occupational health and safety, environment and quality through an integrated management system for the whole infrastructure maintenance business.
ACCIONA’s Infrastructure Maintenance Unit has been adapting this management system during 2019 to migrate it from the OHSAS 18001 standard to ISO 45001. The company has also successfully passed the audit for another year of its Integrated Quality Management System under ISO 9001 and its Environmental System under ISO 14001.
ACCIONA has now taken another step towards integrating health and safety across its entire hierarchical structure and strategy for the business, strengthening its management system, developing its activities across all of its operations, and reaffirming the robust commitment of every company employee to achieve the goal of reducing its accident rates.
This success is the result of the active participation of everyone that makes up ACCIONA’s Infrastructure Maintenance team in its various work centres, recognising their work to continuously improve the organisation and creating a significant differentiating factor compared to other companies in the sector.
