ACCIONA will build the first Waste to Energy plant in Perth, Australia.
ACCIONA will build the first waste-to-energy plant in Western Australia, 40 km south of Perth. Kwinana, with a total surface area of 3.5 hectares, will process up to 400,000 tons of waste per year and will have a production capacity of 36 MW, equivalent to the consumption of 50,000 homes.
The Waste to Energy plant project was developed by Phoenix Energy and Macquarie Capital. Kwinana will set a milestone in the development of waste to energy technology by reducing landfill storage and harnessing it for renewable energy generation.
The entire process will involve the creation of up to 800 jobs during construction work, as well as some 60 new permanent jobs for future operation and maintenance.
This contract is part of ACCIONA's long-term commitment to Australia with projects based on cutting-edge technologies that contribute to sustainability and environmental protection.
