This is one of the most important highway projects in the country, offering a mobility solution to the residents of Panamá Oeste province, a commuter region in which most residents spend the daytime in Panama City. The traffic jams that currently affect access to the city along the existing road mean that residents lose nearly two hours per journey.

The length of the project is nearly 12 km. It consists of building a highway through the same areas crossed by the current road. It will have three lanes in each direction, plus two central lanes that can be reversed as required. There will also be six new junctions.
